AMPLIFY powered By Harvard Ventures and Yale Entrepreneurial Society

Updated: Jul 27, 2020

We're excited to announce that ParlayMe has partnered with Harvard Ventures to help spread the word and parlay their upcoming AMPLIFY event series

Harvard Ventures has partnered with Yale Entrepreneurship Society and nine leading universities, entrepreneurial organizations at Stanford, Columbia, UPenn, Cornell, Vanderbilt, Brown, UC Berkeley, and Fordham to create AMPLIFY, an on-going speaker series to support and empower underrepresented communities in entrepreneurship and venture capital.

For their first AMPLIFY series, they are underscoring the experiences, creations, triumphs, hardships, and learnings of Black entrepreneurs.

A weekly summer speaker series to support and empower underrepresented communities in entrepreneurship and venture capital.

Why now you ask?

The murder of George Floyd and countless other Black individuals at the hands of police have prompted them to consider how they can be actively anti-racist.

As students at leading institutions, their platforms have been far too silent. Releasing statements condemning systemic racism, although a good first step, is not enough.

Inviting diverse voices to their platforms and honoring underrepresented groups in startupland constitutes concrete action.

Their goal is to educate, inspire, and help pave new paths for underrepresented voices with each speaker they host.

In the upcoming weeks, each of our partnering universities will host a virtual speaker.

All students are welcome to each AMPLIFY event, and they further encourage professors, alumni, family, and friends to tune in.

To ensure these events are as widely accessible as possible, AMPLIFY events are technically free to attend.

However, they do hope that many of you will choose to purchase a ticket for our event.

All ticket proceeds will be directly donated to Black Lives Matter and affiliate organizations.
