DAZN and TIKTOK Launch New Football Hub In Germany

DAZN, a global sports destination platform and TikTok, the leading mobile platform for shortform content, with Germany’s largest football portal, kicker, announce they are all joining forces to launch a brand new Football Hub on TikTok.

Launching today, football fans can enjoy exclusive behind the scenes football coverage from DAZN – via the new Football Hub on TikTok.

The hub will include live streams, hashtag challenges and personal insights into the lives of football stars, including Alphonso Davies and football influencer Fabian Pecher. Fabian, a social influencer and TikTok creator, will provide expert commentary on current football events and the biggest moments in football history, alongside some football skills tutorials.

The Football Hub will also have video tools and filters to inspire even more football creativity in the TikTok community, encouraging people to show their passion for the game. The hub’s in-platform game will also enable fans to come together as teams and bet on the outcome of the Bundesliga’s biggest matches.

“Extending our content into the hub on TikTok offers fans many new opportunities to directly access exclusive DAZN football content Furthermore, there will be exciting insights behind the scenes of DAZN” says Thomas de Buhr, Executive Vice President DAZN DACH.

Charlotte Kohlhas, responsible for TikTok’s media partnerships in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, says: “We already have a lot of creative football content on our platform, so it was a logical next step for us to create this hub of incredible content. Right now, football fans have limited access to stadiums, so this is a great alternative on TikTok with so many possibilities to interact and for fans to feel closer to their favourite clubs and players”.

German football magazine kicker hopes to appeal to young football fans, ”By working with TikTok, kicker reaches new fans. At the same time, we can contribute to the attractiveness of the Football Hub with our editorial expertise and up-to-date data and thus actively accompany the exciting development on the TikTok football pitch,” says David Gohla, Product Manager Social Media at kicker.

For the 2020-21 season, DAZN will show 45 Bundesliga matches on Fridays, Sunday lunchtimes and Mondays in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. From the UEFA Champions League, DAZN will stream 110 out of 138 matches. From 2021, DAZN becomes the new ‘Home of Live Football’ in Germany.
