The pressure is on for ten local startups who will compete in the regional finals for a chance to attend the Startup World Cup in Silicon Valley.
Taking place on 9 June, the regional selection event is organised by EY Luxembourg and hosted at its offices in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
A collaborative committee selected the most promising ten startups from the full list of applicants. The shortlist includes:
The ten startups will pitch to an independent jury composed of prestigious investors and tech entrepreneurs, including managing partner and co-founder of Mangrove Capital Partners Hans-Juergen Schmitz, principal at Expon Capital Owen Reynolds, angel investor and financial professional Dara Nikolova, Tadaweb co-founder Genna Elvin, and Keith Hopper, co-founder of Edenholm Hopper Services, CFO of ONE Group Solutions, and managing partner at Neil Ward & Associates.
The winner will be announced on the day and will go on to represent Luxembourg and the Greater Region against more than 50 candidates in the next round in San Francisco, US. They will also participate in a roadshow across the US.
The last edition, hosted in 2020, was won by cloud storage and data access management firm Highside.
Organised worldwide by Pegasus Tech Ventures, the Startup World Cup is an international competition that aims to bring startup ecosystems together. Promising entrepreneurs will compete against each other until the grand finale, which will take place in Silicon Valley. The prize is $1 million in investment and the opportunity to meet peers and investors in the US startup ecosystem.
