Role Description
Investor Relations works closely with C-suite executives to shape the firm’s external engagement strategy (including with equity and debt investors, research analysts, rating agencies, and ESG-focused stakeholders). Investor Relations also partners with key internal constituents on strategic planning, competitive positioning, and capital and resource management
This is a unique position that will primarily focus on corporate governance, sustainability, executive compensation and other related matters. Candidates will regularly engage with external constituents, as well as work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across the firm to help shape the firm’s strategy and messaging with respect to these issues
The role will provide exposure to the breadth and complexity of activities at Goldman Sachs, and will require sustained interaction with senior business and firm leadership
Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to expand their work into other aspects of the Investor Relations team as workload and broader team resourcing permits
Key Responsibilities
Engage with investors, rating agencies, proxy advisors and ESG-focused stakeholders through regular calls and meetings, as well as attendance at external events
Build and maintain relationships with key constituents to understand key areas of focus and enhance governance and sustainability-related messaging and engagement strategy
Manage annual shareholder engagement strategy in connection with GS Annual Shareholders’ Meeting and related ballot items (Say on Pay, Shareholder Proposals, etc.)
Assess and analyze investor views and peer trends to measure ESG-related risks and opportunities; create materials for senior management to prepare for investor meetings and other external eventsÂ
Proactively research and monitor key governance and sustainability-related issues and trends through participation in conferences, news monitoring, and industry analysis; disseminate key takeaways on a real-time basisÂ
Qualifications
5-7 years of industry experience in sustainability- and/or governance-focused roles (Stewardship teams, IR, Legal, Consulting, etc.), preferably including direct experience with financial institutions
Experience communicating with senior executives, clients, investors and/or external constituents
Strong judgement and decision-making ability
History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
Broad awareness of current events, industry trends and regulatory environment
Ability to interact and build relationships with people across the firm at different levels of seniority

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $125000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
